4 ways to increase sales over Christmas

The silly season is almost upon us which means it’s time to start making sure that you are making the most of it!

According to Finder, the average Aussie spends $1325 on Christmas which means we will be spending at least $25 Billion this coming holiday season.

And wouldn’t it be great if, as an online store owner, you could have a slice of that $25 billion?

With just under a month until Christmas Day, if you haven’t got a plan of action in place for the silly season it’s time to start doing something about it.

And I’m here to help by sharing my top 4 ways to make the most of the silly season!

The Lead-Up

Once Halloween is over, it’s pretty much fine to mention the “C” word, and there is no better time to start dropping hints about your Christmas stock than after the 31st October.

Each year, I see more & more people starting their Christmas shopping as early as possible so that they can budget their finances more effectively.

That’s why you need to start making the most of the lead up to December by dropping hints on what you are going to be offering.

By dropping hints on new products, discounts or sneak peeks of new designs in the lead up to your products going live, you will build up excitement among your customers.

Create Your Own Product Advent Calendar

Who doesn’t love an advent calendar?

Creating your own product advent calendar can add a unique product to your store and be a great way of increasing traffic to your site.

If you’re not keen on creating a product advent calendar or your products aren’t right for a calendar then you created a countdown to Christmas on social media offering special offers or even releasing a new product.

It will be a great way to build up a bit of excitement over your products across the silly season.

Get rid of last seasons stock in sales

I know a lot of you suffer with this issue & it’s having tons of left-over stock that didn’t sell when you released it.

Creating some limited-time offers on last seasons stock will be a great time to shift some of that slow-moving stock and create more room for any new stock you have coming in.

Everyone loves a good sale and building hype around those products and offers as Christmas draws closer will help you to get rid of some of it.

Grow your email list

You should be building your email list all year round but now is the time to really push it.

Everyone is online, looking for the best deals and trying to find that ‘something special’ for their loved ones.

Offering a slightly bigger discount around Christmas will help to get more potential customers on your email list, meaning more eyes whenever you release a new product.

Apart from having pop-ups on your site, creating social media posts and investing in some Facebook ads will really help to get more traffic to your online store.
